Our safeguarding commitment
Praise My Weapon Outreach does not tolerate abuse, exploitation, harassment, neglect or discrimination. The safety and dignity of every person must take priority over programme targets, publicity or organisational reputation.
Expected conduct
- Treat every participant with dignity, patience and respect.
- Maintain appropriate physical, emotional and digital boundaries.
- Avoid being alone with a child where activities cannot be observed by another authorised adult.
- Never exchange money, gifts, private messages or personal contact details with a child without authorised oversight.
- Never use humiliating, threatening, sexual, discriminatory or exploitative language or behaviour.
- Follow programme supervision, attendance and safety procedures.
Photos, stories and personal information
Photos, videos, names and personal stories involving children or vulnerable people must only be collected and published with appropriate consent and organisational approval. Content must preserve dignity, avoid unnecessary identifying information and never place a participant at risk.
Reporting a concern
Anyone who witnesses, suspects or receives a disclosure of unsafe conduct should prioritise immediate safety, avoid investigating the matter personally, record essential facts accurately and report the concern promptly to info@praisemyweaponoutreach.org. Where someone faces immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency or child-protection authority.
Volunteer responsibilities
Volunteers must provide truthful information, follow authorised instructions, respect confidentiality, disclose conflicts of interest and report incidents or concerns. Participation may be suspended or ended where conduct creates a safeguarding, legal or reputational risk.
Screening and supervision
Roles involving direct or repeated contact with children or vulnerable adults should receive proportionate screening, orientation and supervision before service begins. Requirements may vary according to the programme, location and applicable law.

This public statement establishes our minimum expectations. Detailed internal procedures, designated safeguarding responsibilities and programme-specific risk assessments will be adopted and updated as operations develop.
